Looking for a fun and engaging dance class for young children in Chineham? Our Little Tots Dance class is a joyful introduction to movement, music, and rhythm for ages 2½ to around 5. Perfect for little ones who are ready to join in independently, this class combines fun, structure, and creativity in equal measure.
Held every Wednesday from 4.00pm to 4.45pm, at Chineham Village Hall, it’s a lovely midweek activity that blends ballet, tap, modern jazz, and musical mime in a supportive and engaging environment. Children are free to express themselves while gradually learning to follow instructions and work as part of a group.
This class is about much more than just learning steps. It helps to build:
- Confidence and independence
- Listening and coordination skills
- Musicality and rhythm
- Imagination and self-expression
Our Little Tots also have the opportunity to take part in musical mime medal tests, specially designed for their age and ability. These non-competitive tests focus on storytelling through movement, expression, and timing. Each child receives instant feedback from a visiting examiner, along with a trophy and a certificate from the British Theatre Dance Association. These medal tests are entirely optional, but always a proud and exciting moment for our young dancers.
All new starters are welcome to join us for a 3-week trial, payable at the regular class rate of £8.50 per class. This gives your child time to settle before committing to the full term.
By joining now, your child will also be part of our big celebration show — Danceforce 25 — taking place on 15th & 16th November at Queen Mary's College, Basingstoke. It’s a magical event for dancers and families alike, and Little Tots have their own special section in the performance.
Our Chineham classes are warm, welcoming, and popular with local families — and spaces for September are already filling fast. Full term fees are £85 for 10 lessons.
