New Dance Term Starts Soon – Enrol Now for Autumn Classes in Basingstoke & Chineham

As the school year winds down, many parents are already planning ahead for September. If you're looking for high-quality children's dance classes in Basingstoke or Chineham, now is the perfect time to secure your child's place at Lynden Dance School. Our Autumn Term starts in early September, and enrolment is officially open.

Whether your child is taking their very first steps into dance or continuing their training, our experienced team is here to support and inspire them every step of the way.

Children's Dance Classes from 2½ Years and Up

Three young girls in pink leotards and ballet shoes joyfully dancing together in a bright, spacious dance studio with wooden floors and large windows.

At Lynden, we welcome children from as young as 2½ years old into our Little Tots Dance classes. These fun, friendly sessions introduce little ones to the world of dance through a joyful blend of ballet, tap, modern jazz, and musical mime.

Our focus at this stage is on:

  • Building coordination and rhythm
  • Encouraging expression and creativity
  • Developing listening and social skills

Children in the Little Tots class have the opportunity to take part in age-appropriate musical mime medal tests, designed to be fun and confidence-building, with immediate feedback and trophies awarded on the day. These tests are entirely optional, and children can progress at their own pace in a warm, pressure-free environment.

Combined Ballet, Tap & Modern Jazz Classes

A group of seven girls wearing black Lynden Dance School uniforms perform a tap dance routine in a studio with wooden floors and white panelled walls, arms raised in synchronised poses.

From around age 5 and upwards, children are encouraged to join our combined classes, where they enjoy structured lessons in three essential dance styles — Ballet, Modern Jazz, and Tap — all within a single weekly session.

This unique structure offers:

  • A strong, balanced foundation in dance technique
  • Consistency and convenience for families
  • Opportunities to take formal exams and perform in shows

We follow the British Theatre Dance Association syllabus, and our combined classes allow students to develop elegance, musicality, strength, and versatility across all three disciplines.

Acrobatic Dance – Strength, Flexibility & Confidence

A young girl in a black and red Lynden Dance School uniform demonstrates two advanced acrobatic poses, balancing on her forearms with legs extended in different dynamic positions against a plain background.

Also available from age 5+, our Acrobatic Dance (Acro) classes are ideal for children who love movement, gymnastics, or physical challenges. These classes combine classical dance technique with controlled acrobatic skills, building:

  • Flexibility and muscle tone
  • Balance, strength, and coordination
  • Confidence through achievement and creativity

Taught by fully qualified Acrobatic Arts instructors, Acro provides a safe and structured way for children to learn exciting new skills while improving posture, control, and expression.

Why Parents Choose Lynden Dance School

Our families choose Lynden because we offer more than just a dance class:

  • All staff are DBS-checked and First Aid trained
  • Three paid trial sessions to make sure your child is happy before committing
  • Caring, supportive environment that focuses on enjoyment as much as technique

We’re based in central Basingstoke and Chineham, with well-equipped studios and a strong sense of community.

FAQs About Joining Lynden Dance School

Can my child try a class before committing? Yes – we offer the first three classes on a trial basis at the regular class fee.

What should my child wear to the first session? Comfortable clothing like leggings and a t-shirt is perfect for trial sessions. After that, we have a simple, affordable uniform which we’ll explain in class.

Can I watch the classes? To help children settle and focus, we ask parents not to watch. However, we’re always on hand to answer questions, and we’ll contact you directly with any concerns.

What happens if my child misses a class? Trial sessions can be taken non-consecutively. Once enrolled, missed classes are non-refundable but can be made up in a similar class where available.
